Think you have a Gluten allergy??

This is a great article from the Wall Street Journal about people self-diagnosing themselves with a gluten allergy or sensitivity.

While gluten in the form we consume it most often these days (refined flour), itsn't a form that was naturally available to our systems thousands of years ago, it doesn't mean that our bodies haven't evolved to be able to handle said molecule, although perhaps it is not the molecule itself but the rate and volume at which consume it that is the issue.

Chocolate Fondue

Truvia sent me this recipe this morning for chocolate fondue - just in time for a chocolate holiday!

Fondue Ingredients:
2/3 cup unsweet cocoa powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup skim milk
4 tablespoons Truvia natural sweetner spoonable
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dippers:
strawberries
bananas
apple slices
graham crackers
pineapple chunks
cherries
anything else you can think of!

1. Mix milk, Truvia, salt, cocoa powder in saucepot. Bring to boil, stirring continuously.
2. Reduce heat and simmer 2-3 minutes, continue stirring - until thickened
3. Remove from heat, cool slightly, whisk in vanilla
4. Serve with variety of dippers!

Contains 20 calories, 1 gram sugar, 1 gram fat per 1oz dip>

How doooo you flip an egg?

Well with the help of my best friends, I gave a cooking video a try. It is short and sweet (almost 4 minutes) - about how to flip an egg with some nutrition facts in the mix!! Perhaps this can start to be a regular feature on the blog :) I hope that the quality comes out ok - the original cut was to large of a file size...
